His name is a pun on "yuutai ridatsu." "Yuutai" means "ethereal body," and "ridatsu" means "withdrawal," so his name refers to how his spirit and body are separated.

In episode 6, it is revealed that Yuuta is biologically female. His registered legal name is Yuu Iridatsu (伊里達 遊).
In episode 7, it is revealed that Yuuta is Pine in Chiyoko's body, and that Pine, Guriko, and Chiyoko were all switched 9 years prior.
